From Interim President Daniel Melton

Dec 8, 2025 | General

Since God first called my wife, Tiffany, and me, missions has been my life. Our family joined Evangelistic Faith Missions in August 2002, and we moved to Honduras in January 2005. For the past twenty years, we have been blessed to build on the foundation of other great missionaries like Leonard and Janet Sankey who founded the work and invested their lives in the development of disciples and the training of pastoral leaders. Those leaders have gone on to plant and to grow a strong network of mission-minded, locally led churches throughout Honduras.

As new missionaries, we learned from the best. EFM missionaries Don and Devona Moore trained us. They were responsible for starting the Honduras radio ministries and establishing the clinic. Their example made a big impact – helping us to feel needed and valued and how to stick it out for the long term.  While I have not pastored or taught, I have used my God-given skills to develop enterprises that have strengthened the work and helped make it more self-sustaining. My wife’s nursing experience has been instrumental in shaping the clinic. Together, our love for God and the people of Honduras has led us to live purposefully and to invest deeply in this place. While there are many ways and places to sow Gospel seed, for the past 115 years EFM has been committed to sending missionaries like our family who are committed to intentional, long-term fruit. We have been blessed to be part of EFM. It has been reassuring to know that while we were doing important work abroad, we had committed prayer warriors, generous donors, and wise leadership at home standing behind and beside us. We are grateful for each partner who has made our work of the past 23 years possible.

Since the EFM Board has asked me to fill the role of Interim President, I have been prayerfully pondering the path forward and asking God for wisdom to lead. I have important work to finish in Honduras, and I have much yet to learn to fill this position. However, there are two things that I believe: 1) I believe that we need to redouble our efforts to send long-term, residential missionaries, and 2) I believe we must reinvest in the established mission fields that have defined EFM as an organization.

While others may sow widely, EFM must sow for depth and endurance.

While others may sow widely, EFM must sow for depth and endurance. Our churches in Honduras share our commitment to the historic Holiness message and way of living because they shared life with us. Our pastors were discipled and mentored by deeply committed teachers, and that level of investment has borne fruit in their committed lives and ministries. They stand as brilliant Christian examples, and I have been greatly honored to serve alongside them.

As we move forward, we want to place missionaries in places where we can leave behind that same kind of lasting legacy. As we step into this new season, we invite you to continue walking with us – praying, giving, and believing for a future where EFM continues to shine brightly around the world.

Yours for Souls,

Daniel Melton
